![]() ![]() It took 2 hours, for some reason IT refused to update beyond Big Sur but it should still be even later than Catalina which you peg as the minimum requirment for v11.x on Mac OS. So they assumed that it was because of their old MacOS version (they were running Catalina). So they tried to update and the adobe creative cloud desktop app told them Lightroom classic was up to date. They tried to open their 11.2 catalogue on their mac on-site and it said the catalogue was too new. They are using the mac on site and work on version 11.2 on windows from home. It's not my machine I'm just helping someone who's called me trying to figure out why they can't get any work done today. I thought it seemed odd that there'd be this break in the updates. I think they're using maybe an enterprise account and it prevents them downloading beyond the version with Long Term Support maybe. Actually I think there might be an explanation for the behaviour where the system this person is using on site says 10.4 is the latest and I reckon it's probably to do with long term support. The link actually says "Applicable for October 2021 release (version 11.0) and later" at the top of the page so that at least solves one mystery. It's normal that there's a cut off point where versions become incompatible with each other and also when they become incompatible with old OSs but having one of the major supported platforms cap the updates regardless of if its the latest OS version is very strange, how do people collaborate cross-platform?ĮDIT: actually it does say what versions the system requirements for the version labelled as 'latest' is, I just skimmed over it each of the several times I looked at the page. What about the work done to the project since updating the windows machine to 11.2? Is there any way at all to keep those changes while continuing to work on the project using a mac? There's a week of work in there, and it's lucky it's only that and not a whole project. If you want to edit the same project hopping across two machines, one windows and one Mac, should you always keep the windows one at 10.4 until a newer update for mac becomes available? The mac in question is a 2015 MBP, so not Apple Silicone. This would be a frustrating situation in the best of times but the fact that it doesn't seem to say this black and white anywhere makes things a lot harder. I ask because it's apparently impossible to open a catalogue edited on a windows machine running version 11.2 and it's apparently impossible to update beyond 10.4 on Mac OS. It seems like Adobe sort of imply that 10.3 is the latest and they don't mention at all as far as I can find about anything above that all the way up to the current windows version 11.2. What is the latest version of Lightroom Classic that can be run on Mac OS? It kind of seems like it's 10.4, based on what the CC app allows, although trying to find confirmation on this online is bizarrely hard work. It's weirdly hard to find an answer to this.
